× Helen's Necklace (available in English and French)
A Tarragon Acoustic Production in association with PlayME Podcast's Laura Mullin and Chris Tolley
April 25, 2021 2:30 PM – May 9, 2021 11:59 PM (listen anywhere anytime)

Written by: Carole Fréchette
Translated by: John Murrell
Directed by: Eda Holmes

Helen wanders through a Middle Eastern city looking for a lost pearl necklace. In language as shimmering as the strand of pearls itself—its value isn't what we initially think—Fréchette brings Helen into contact with a series of people, from a friendly taxi driver to a distraught mother and an angrily impassioned man. Helen's world is irrevocably changed by her search for a trinket.

Carole Fréchette is the author of fifteen plays, which have been translated into twenty languages and staged all over the world. Fréchette was awarded the prestigious Siminovitch Prize in Theatre in 2002, and has received the Governor General’s Literary Award for French Language Drama twice.

Helen's Necklace was first produced at Tarragon in October 2003 and was remounted in November 2004.

Pre-purchased Acoustic subscriptions and tickets will receive an email on the opening day of the play (Apr 25) with instructions on how to access it and any associated bonus content. Subscriptions and tickets purchased after the opening day (Apr 25) will receive the access information email within 24 hours of purchase.
