Provides funding for all technical and physical elements of performance, including but not limited to, lighting, audio, props, set design, special effects, online digital/streaming components, and further elements to establish the worlds in which our stories take place.

Supports Canadian artists with valuable resources such as funded time to develop their work, dramaturgical support, community engagement, artistic guidance, exposure to industry personnel, workshops, theatre assets, and studio space.

In memory of Canadian theatre giant Richard McMillan, and to celebrate the deep admiration he had for theatre artists’ survival instincts, Rick’s Tix will provide complimentary tickets to one post-secondary artist-training program each season.

As part of our commitment to arts education and access we are thrilled to offer schools bus subsidies to attend our student matinees!

The Rose Directing Fund will support an outstanding professional director in the creation of new work at Tarragon. The annual recipient will be a director who shows a commitment to telling Canadian stories with innovation and rigor, as Richard Rose has done in leading Tarragon for the last 20 years. This fund will develop opportunities for collaboration with directors from across the country, and will introduce new vision and perspective to Tarragon artists and audiences. A special reception will be held annually to celebrate their contribution to Tarragon’s artistic community.

Funds are directed to youth programming such as Young Playwrights Unit (YPU), East of Tarragon, education workshops and student matinee subsidized tickets.
